MCPS CheckSafe™ is the "no risk" version of MCPS CheckGuard™ transferring all the check risk to MCPS. Every check transaction properly authorized through MCPS is guaranteed in the event it is returned unpaid by the bank. All the protections of MCPS CheckGuard™ are included in CheckSafe™ with the added feature of funds guarantee.

The process of having the check guaranteed is simple. The cashier simply records the driver's license on the check and the customer signs an authorization receipt. The cashier then verifies with the customer that all other information on the check is correct and deposits the paper check as usual. It's that easy! If the check is returned for any reason, the bank automatically forwards that item to MCPS for immediate processing.

Retailers can accept checks with confidence knowing their funds are safe from unexpected returns. MCPS takes on the risk of all authorized transactions and pays the retailer full face value of the check if it is returned.
